The last thing you want to have to worry about is where your guests are staying for your wedding. However, this blog will show you how to do this without all the stress! Getting a room block is easier than you think. Keep reading to learn how!
Call the hotel in your area
Simply ask if they do room blocks (they may transfer you to the sales department)
Find out the rate, how many rooms they will offer, and what beds are in each room (king, queen, two queen, etc.)
Give them your email and have them send over the contract
Sign and send it back!
Tell your guests what hotels have room blocks, the rate, and the beds
Relax and let your guests take it from there! When they book, they will just tell the hotel they are booking under that block.
One frustrating thing you might encounter is minimum bookings. Some hotels require that a certain number of the rooms blocked off actually get booked (understandable), so make sure you’re not getting too many! Additionally, find out if there’s a deposit (this isn’t common) and what their cancellation policy looks like.
It's super easy…and honestly, there isn't much else to write about! Most hotels will offer blocks of 10-20, so depending on how big your wedding is, you could get 2-3 blocks. Most hotels are also happy to work with you because it brings them more business, so they don’t mind doing room blocks. Good luck!
